Biography

Igor Monashirov is a singer and vocal coach. He was born in Moscow. He finished the musical theatre GITIS as a specialist in art and vocal. He also finished the post-graduate studies of the Faculty of Pedagogy RATI. He used to work as a vocal coach in the University GITIS in the faculty RATI.
Many Russian and worlds opera theatres invite Igor to sing the leading tenor parts such as: Lenski Eugene Onegin – Tchaikovsky, Cavaradossi – Tosca Puccini, Don Jose – Carmen – Bizet, Pinkerton – Madama Butterfly – Puccini etc. Now he works in the Russian State Music Center. He also works as a vocal coach in MGUKI
and travels to Europe and USA to take part in different concerts. Igor can perform the classical tenor repertoire, but also he can perform in counter tenor singing the most difficult soprano roles and world’s famous jazz, soul, classical and pop hits. Igor used to be a student of the leading masters of bel canto such as: Luciano Pavarotti, Elena Obraztsova and Carlo Bergonzi. The huge vocal range and the ability to work in different musical styles, without loosing the quality of performances – are stunning. Igor works in the best venues in Russia, giving the concerts in State Kremlin Palace, Concert Hall “Russia” and also in the Moscow Conservatory.
Igor works as a vocal coach for 25 years. His students are the stars of the Russian pop music. Igor takes part in creation of pop hits. He also one of the founders of Russian Assistance to Young Talents. Igor was awarded the order of “The Glory of the fatherland” and “Merit for the domestic arts”
